About Mrs. Obielecki

Hello! I am so excited to be the director of bands at Hershey Intermediate School. I am also the assistant director of the Hershey Trojan Marching Band and the vocal director for the Hershey High School Theatre Department.

Teaching music is a passion for me and I have had experience teaching lots of different ensembles and grade levels. My first job was teaching 4th thru 8th grade general music and choir at Pen Argyl Area School District. Pen Argyl was near the Lehigh Valley and I lived in Bethlehem PA. I was also the High School Drama director. I taught at Pen Argyl for 5 years. 

Then for 3 years I taught in my hometown of Williamsport, PA (home of the Little League World Series!). At Williamsport I taught Elementary School Band at two different schools, Middle School Choir and Musicals, and High School Marching Band. I was a busy-bee!

In addition to teaching, I was also a performer in Williamsport. At the Williamsport Community theatre I directed, produced, stage managed, played in the pits, and was an actress. My acapella group, Nothing But Treble, was so much fun to perform with. 

​I live in Harrisburg with my husband, Nick, and our son, Oliver. Nick is a school counselor for the West Shore School District, and Oliver will be turning four in November, 2022.

Hobbies
I love to read! Next to music it's probably my favorite thing. Every year I challenge myself to read at least 50 books that calendar year. My favorite books are the Chronicles of Narnia, but I have lots and lots of others that I absolutely adore. 

I also love to travel. I have a cabin in Ontario, Canada that I visit often. I've visited Florida, Nashville TN, Dewey Beach DE, Baltimore MD, Los Angeles CA, Conneticut, The Redwood Forest, Acadia National Park in Maine, Cape Cod, New Orleans, and a host of small day trips around PA. Mr. Obielecki and I have a US map that we put push pins in when we visit a new place!
